“ In Volvo we Thrust ”

World Peace !

- well actually no, but the next best thing ... Dipetane.

For years I have been buying various supposedly ‘amazing’ engine treatments that in truth do nothing. As such I was more than happy to find this product, and I am more than happy to endorse it ...

I am rarely one to wax lyrical about any product. I am so cynical in fact, that I surprise myself on an ongoing basis. A couple of months ago I lifted a can of Dipetane off the shelf in my local Motor factor’s with that very frame of mind. “What’s this?” I grunted. Gerry, the proprieter, is an old - time guy. He knows cars, and if he recommends something I buy it without question. It’s been that way for years: he’s never let me down.

Indeed he started waxing lyrical about it, and as Gerry’s a cool sort of guy, that really aroused my suspicions: “It’s great stuff, all the trade guys come in and buy it ... it’s sold all over the World!”

Interestingly, he also told me that it was an Irish company - based in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow.

I duly bought it, and passing the local Esso I realized it was time for a fill. I put in my drop of Dipetane and 10 euro of petrol on top of it.

I remember as a child having a book about this guy who put on ‘amazing trousers’ and zipped around the Moon a few times and back. This was a bit like the car equivelant. As I pulled out of that very garage, I noticed the car was running at least twice as smooth as usual. By the time I had got 1k.m. up the road, I also realized that it’s perpetual mis-firing between gears had completely vanished!

I actually got excited about this stuff. For years I have been buying various engine treatments which never worked - they were fancily packaged, cost an average of a tenner, and were universally useless.

Dipetane burns away deposits in the engine, rather than flushing them away , as per ‘engine cleaner’. In other words, a better ‘burn’, rather than flushing out what didn’t burn! It is an additive in the sense that you add it, but that's where the similarity ends. As the C.E.O. of Dipetane explains:

Dipetane, containing ZERO additives PREVENTS ( no other technology can do this incl. Exxon/Shell/BP) carbon build ( deposits) up by stabilizing and equalizing the volatile Hydrocarbon chains prior to combustion, so that the incoming, fixed 21% oxygen in the air, is now able to access and burn the hydrocarbons much more completely, giving a much more even burn. This technology is unique to Dipetane worldwide.

Whereas all additives are making very poor attempts at dealing with Carbon build( deposits) up AFTER it has occurred. These “avoidable” deposits (only through the use of Dipetane) on average are absorbing and wasting almost 20% of the fixed incoming 21 units of oxygen. These deposits are also the cause of greatly increased emissions , wasted fuel and reduced power and “rough” burning of fuel

  • You can’t add too much or too little
  • Coca - Cola Bottlers ( Ireland ) have used it in their fleet since 1989, Roadstone also use it.
  • It was developed in Ireland by Irish scientists
  • It has been on the market for 20 years
  • Claimed fuel efficiency benefit ( based on extensive trials): 10%
  • Green House Gases: 25% less
  • Smoke: 50% less
  • Prolonged engine life: + 40%

In a nutshell, it’s suitable for Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene mixing, and more besides. For any NCT test, I would say it’s a must. Having used Dipetane myself for the past couple of months, I know it increases economy and drops the emissions - drastically. A few weeks ago I put 35 litres of petrol in my car. A full 399 miles later, and the tank was nowhere near empty. For a 1.8 Volvo doing a lot of city driving, that’s more than good.

Two years ago the NCT emissions rating for my car was higher than it was last week, when I had it mandatorily re-tested! I could go on and on, but you get the picture! For those of you more interested in probing the science, check out Dipetane’s website at: www.dipetane.com

All I know is it works, and I’m using it ... and will be from now on. The only question on my mind is why every petrol station in the country doesn’t have a ‘Dipetane’ pump. Then again, hybrid cars were a dream a few years ago. I wouldn’t dismiss the idea of those pumps just yet ...
